Dubai Airshow

The 2017 Airshow in Dubai-the biggest event of its kind in the Middle East -began from Sunday November 12 until Thursday November 16. The major plane manufacturers both in defense and civil fields met in Dubai to grab headlines with big orders and demonstrate the highest technologies in world of aviation This event shocked on more than one occasion with surprise orders and failed deals

BEGINNING TO challenge the might of the traditional Paris and Farnborough air shows, the Dubai event is attracting increasing numbers of civilian and military exhibitors from more countries every time it opens its gates and the recent event was no exception. Another aspect starting to become more dominant is the fact that whereas previously the Dubai show was more aimed at business aviation, now airliner manufacturers are starting to gain more of the spotlight

The Boeing Company has been a successful show across their businesses, and visitors have had a lot to see: their 787-10 Dreamliner, fly Dubai’s 737 MAX, the popular CST-100 Starliner spacecraft simulator, AH-46 Apache and CH-47 Chinook helicopters, an MV-22 Osprey and a pair of F-15 multi-role fighters

Airbus had a major presence at Dubai Airshow 2017. Airbus also had orders for 510 aircrafts and commitments consist of a firm order for 90 A320 neo family. They also surprised visitors with their A380 among the other airplanes on the apron

Although still predominately civilian based, the military influence is also gaining momentum, an example being the exhibition by South African defense manufacturing giant, Denel, which used the show to not only promote its manufacturing expertise, but also reintroduce its Rooivalk attack helicopter
